The Foundation:
This is your place to get the facts about abstinence. By getting this solid
"foundation" you will gain information that will enable you to have the freedom
to make the best possible choices!
Teen Choices is a non-profit abstinence until marriage education program that is
sponsored by the Pregnancy Resource Center of SW Oklahoma. The mission at
Teen Choices is to bring the message of truth regarding our sexuality and healthy
relationships to public and private schools and to the community.
Fact 1: All teens are not sexually active (grades 9-12).
Fact 2: For those teens that are sexually active many are
affected by sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and pregnancy.

1 in 5 Americans are presently infected with a STD

63% of all STDs occur in people less than 25 years of age

STDs infect 3 million teens each year

20 different STDs are rampant among the young

Fact 3: Contracting a STD or becoming pregnant can make it
difficult for teens to obtain future personal goals.
Fact 4: It is possible for teens to be abstinent in today's
society, and abstinence provides the freedom for teens to pursue
their future goals and dreams.
